X-TEK ORIGIN
During the year 2000, Grenoble IUT 2 (Graduate Institute of Technology) wanted to implement a technical system that will allow:
* Streamline and optimize its information system,
* Develop teamwork and sharing of knowledge,
* Facilitate internal or external communication of the establishment,
* Make users responsible for their own area of information and communication.
Specifically, at the end of 90 years, needs to IUT2 expressed in terms of intranets, portals, e-learning (online courses on the Internet "), working groups and collaborative achievement of websites. These usages… as many different tools, not always very easy to learn, and most often very disparate. Hence the idea to design and develop a single tool that could respond in a coherent and consistent with these different types of uses and needs.
INTRATEK became fully operational in September 2003, and WEBTEK since March 2005. DIDACTEK has been used since September 2004 for the delivery of online educational content and monitoring of the distance students, but it is completely finished since June 2006 with the completion of its module administration of a "distance learning".
X-TEK's 3 modules
X-TEK is actually a portals' and communication platforms generator, which currently is available in three versions (or application modules):

X-TEK consists of a core accounting for 80% of the features common to all application modules Intratek, Didactek and Webtek. Each module includes specific functionality thus representing the remaining 20%.
Tools and basic features are the same in all three environments, making it easier to learn and the transition from one to another. Some specific features characterize each of the versions to suit the special needs associated with these different uses.
So training in the use of one or other of these modules provides immediately transferable skills for the use of other modules. For the sake of convenience and efficiency, X-TEK was designed in a logic of integration.
Major Specifications
X-TEK meets specifications very precise whose priorities are as follows:
* Rapid implementation of a platform (organization of content, folder creation, creation of accounts and management of access rights);
* Ease of publication adapted to the level of competence of the individual authors, contributors (from simple text input in the forms of assistance to the publication, to the posting of pages compiled organized Web site);
* Readability of contents and clear navigation;
* Administrators' autonomy on platforms (X-TEK platforms can be managed without difficulty by non computer specialists).
Detailed description
In all platforms X-TEK, content organisation is simple. This are essentially pages or "documents" (depends on folder types) stored in folders on three levels tree (categories, headings, subheadings). What makes navigation directly readable "," easy.
These folders can be of different nature: "1" single-page folder, list-folder, menu-folder, for content specific to the platform, but also "external web pages content " folder Outside "(link on another server).
X-TEK also allows for the creation of other types of folders , called "modules" of features: internal messaging, calendars, forums, trombinoscopes, publishing lists of user, implementation of online forms,…
For All platforms, a complete and simple publishing system ( wysiwyg HTML pages, publication masks…) has been designed to facilitate pages' creation for delivering all types of documents and / or resources.
Access rights to the contents of a platform are managed folder by folder, and even page by page, it means a very fine. This setting is done through a profiling system at three levels: generic profiles, groups profiles, custom profiles, which allows an adaptation for the most varied situations.
